Unity Signal Bot

Privacy Policy

What Unity Signal Bot collects, why it collects it, where it is kept, and how to have it removed.

Last updated: 4 September 2026
No message reading

The bot never reads, logs or stores the text of your messages.

Analysts only

Personal data is recorded for analysts who post signals — not for members who read them.

Never sold

Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, ever.

Who we are

Unity Signal Bot ("the bot") is a private Discord application operated by Unity Academy. It lets approved analysts publish and manage trading signals inside the Unity Academy Discord server, and it serves a private, role-restricted web dashboard at signalbot.unityacademy.io for reviewing that history.

This policy explains exactly what the bot does with data. It applies to the Discord bot and to that dashboard. It does not cover Discord itself — your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own Privacy Policy.

What we collect

Almost everything the bot stores is created deliberately by an analyst using a slash command. If you only read signals in the channel, the bot records nothing about you.

DataWhen it is collectedWhy
Discord user ID,
username, avatar URL
When an analyst creates or manages a signal, or logs into the dashboard. To attribute a signal to its author, to display the author on the public card, and to restrict the dashboard to permitted users.
Server, channel and
message IDs
When a signal is posted. So the bot can edit its own signal card as the trade progresses and link follow-up alerts back to it.
Trade details Entered by the analyst — ticker, direction, entry, stop loss, targets, sizing, notes. This is the product. It is what the bot posts, tracks and reports on.
Command activity log Every interaction with the bot: what was typed, how it was interpreted, the outcome, and any warnings or errors. Diagnosing bugs and providing an audit trail so a disputed or incorrect signal can be traced to exactly what was entered.
Chart images Only when an analyst presses Attach Chart and then uploads an image. To display the analyst's chart alongside the signal.
Login session cookie When you sign into the dashboard with Discord. To keep you signed in. It is signed, stores only your user ID, username and avatar, and expires after 7 days.

Dashboard sign-in uses Discord OAuth with the identify scope only. We never receive your email address, and we never request or store your Discord password.

What we do not collect

These are worth stating plainly, because a Discord bot is technically capable of all of them and this one deliberately is not:

  • Your message content. The bot holds Discord's Message Content permission for one narrow reason: Discord will not deliver file attachments without it. The bot only ever inspects a message if you personally pressed Attach Chart moments earlier, and even then it looks solely at the attached image. The message text is never read, never logged and never stored. Every other message in the server is discarded unexamined.
  • Your presence or status. The bot does not request the Presence permission and cannot see whether you are online, what game you are playing, or what you are listening to.
  • Member lists. The bot does not download or store a roster of server members.
  • Direct messages. The bot does not read or store DMs.
  • Email addresses, payment details, or real-world identity.
  • Tracking and advertising. No analytics scripts, no advertising networks, no third-party tracking cookies, no cross-site profiling.

Where it is stored

All data lives in SQLite database files and an image folder on a private server operated by Unity Academy. Access is restricted to the operators of the bot. Traffic to the dashboard and documentation site is encrypted with HTTPS.

We do not use third-party cloud storage, hosted analytics, or customer data platforms.

Who it is shared with

We do not sell, rent or trade any data. The only parties that receive anything are the services the bot needs in order to work:

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so.

How long we keep it

Your choices and rights

You can stop the bot collecting anything new about you at any time by not using its commands. Uploading a chart is always a deliberate, per-upload action — the bot only listens after you press the button, and stops as soon as the image is received.

You may ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. Where a signal has already been published to the server, we can remove your personal details from our records, but we cannot un-publish the trading information itself if it forms part of the community's shared performance history — we will tell you clearly if that applies.

Children

The bot is not intended for anyone under 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent in their country. Discord's own Terms of Service require the same. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the bot collects or how it is used, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced in the Unity Academy Discord server.

Contact

For any privacy question, or to request access to or deletion of your data, message a server administrator in the Unity Academy Discord, or email privacy@unityacademy.io.
